'Warhol' by Felix Kulpa
£1,200.00
Felix Kulpa Drawings and Prints
Feliks Culpa works at the fault line of figuration and conceptualism - in charcoal and ink.
Warhol is one of a series of 14 drawings depicting a lunchtime encounter between Andy Warhol and William Burroughs at the Chelsea Hotel in the early 1980s.
Breaking bread and drinking wine, the Naked Lunch / Last Supper series includes Andy eating Hare while wearing his Walkman, pre-dating the current etiquette for texting and checking status updates whilst dining, and William signing books.
Famed for their cut-up, copy and pasting techniques the pair were also responsible for a few choice predicative texts:
“When you cut into the present the future leaks out” – W.S. Burroughs
“In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes” – A. Warhol
